Hello and welcome. I'm Shyam Chawai, a dedicated banker and strategic leader with over 10 years of experience in Nepal's growing financial sector. I currently work as the Regional Head of Madhesh Province at Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank Ltd., where I manage branch operations, lead business development, and guide teams to deliver strong performance across the region.
My career started in 2015, and since then, I've worked in various roles – from credit officer to branch manager, cluster head, and now regional head. Through every step, I've stayed focused on one goal: helping people and businesses grow through accessible, responsible, and efficient banking.
My Role
In my current position, I lead multiple branches across Madhesh Province. My responsibilities include:

I live in Kawasoti-08, Nawalparasi, with my wife Nisha Bhusal and our two wonderful children, Shreeyansi Subedi and Sirjan Subedi. Family is the heart of my life, and I believe in maintaining a healthy balance between my professional responsibilities and personal happiness. Outside of work,
I enjoy traveling, experiencing new cultures, and learning from people of different backgrounds. I strongly believe that travel not only refreshes the mind but also broadens perspectives — something that’s valuable in both leadership and life. I’m also actively involved in community service and social development, supporting efforts that promote education, financial literacy, and local empowerment. Being part of organizations like Rotary has given me the opportunity to contribute to causes beyond the workplace. In my free time, I like spending quality time with my family, exploring nature, and reflecting on ways to give back to the society that has helped shape who I am today.
